Annotations are entered using commands which are natural extensions to conventional word processing procedures.
Once entered, annotations can be hidden, to provide least disturbance to the source document presentation.
Publishing the annotated document.
The primary output of the editors is a simple xml file containing the coded text and annotations. It can be used as the basis of more formal xml encodings, or as the basis of alternative presentation documents.
Optionally though, on request, the editors will produce html web pages suitable for immediate use.
Annotations on the web pages can be first hidden, then displayed, and possibly then hidden again in a self-paced learning process.
